This is an open call for participants to the experimental version of the ‘Reconciliation Through Mending’ Art Project. This project will explore the concept of reconciliation through the act and the perception of mending personal objects. I would like to invite participants to the project by contributing a broken object (any kind) which is connected to a person (maybe the owner or someone related to the owner) and the stories related to the broken object. The object has to be lend to me for creative mending and exhibition.
Selected participants will be invited to come to my studio in Lai Chi Kok to have two face-to-face meetings with audio recording, and leave the broken object to be mended. The object will be returned to the owner after final exhibition. All face-to-face meetings will follow the guidelines of social distancing.
Time Schedule:
8 Mar 2021 – Call for participants to submit information online
12 Mar 2021 – Announcing selected participants
15-21 Mar 2021 – First meeting with participants and submission of object
8-18 Apr 2021 – Second meeting with participant
A total of 10 entries will be selected for this round.
